Tiruchirappalli is a major industrial centre, dubbed the “Energy Equipment and Fabrication Capital of India”, and the fourth largest urban agglomeration in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is situated on the banks of river Kaveri and is home to a fine blend of temples and monuments.

The average temperature in Tiruchirappalli is 28.8 °C and the average annual rainfall is around 860 mm. The city witnesses maximum rainfall during the month of October, with an average of 192 mm and May is the warmest month of the year with average temperatures ranging at around 31.7 °C. The lowest average temperatures in the year occur in January, when it is around 25.3 °C.
